The violin shape is based on the Stradivari “Viotti” from 1709, Cremona, Italy
The top is made of 2 piece Engelmann spruce, quarter-sawn, of very light weight. The back is made of old growth European maple, quarter-sawn with nearly horizontal curl. The neck is made of Russian maple. The fingerboard is Gabon ebony. The finish is Oil Varnish on the entire instrument apart from the neck that is French Polish (Shellac). Color is yellow / orange ground with amber.
